Young Collection

‌The collection comprises 9 volumes presented c. 1611-1640 by Patrick Young (1584-1652), Librarian to James VI and I and Charles I. It was one of the `Foundation Gifts' to the new Common Library (Royal Collection) and includes two incunabula (Goff D380 and D-394 bound together) and a set of the Complutensian Polyglott Bible (1514-1517).

Records for the whole collection are available here via the online catalogue. There is also a contemporary manuscript list of the gift in its original extent - part of the `Foundation list'. Classmarks for books in this collection have the prefix Jun, except for the two incunables bound together, which are classed under Typ.
