Buccleuch Collection
Presented to St Leonard’s College c. 1645 by Francis Scott, 2nd Earl of Buccleuch (1626-1651), a student at the College c. 1640. It consists of 113 volumes bearing the Earl's superb large gilt armorial bookstamp (92 x 71 mm) on the covers. Mainly theological works, but books by J C and J J Scaliger are well represented. The books are mainly in Latin, with at least one Hebrew work.
