Mount Melville Collection

Presented in 2007 by Mrs Mary Mackay, the granddaughter of Dr James Younger of Mount Melville, the collection comprises over 370 items and includes books, printed government papers, selected volumes of journals and maps. There are also some newspaper cuttings, photographs and ephemera, such as railway timetables. The entire collection relates to the Middle East and Central and South Asia, and is primarily 18th and 19th century with a few 20th century items.

The collection is yet to be catalogued and classified, but can be accessed by contacting the Division. A printed handlist is available.
