Rare books collections: MacGillivray Collection
MacGillivray Collection
Presented in 1939 by ophthalmic surgeon Angus MacGillivray (1865-1947), the collection contains c. 1,250 books of the 18th-20th centuries, in the fields of Scottish and Celtic history, literature, and archaeology. It includes many books in Gaelic, and is particularly strong in editions of the Ossian poems.
