Syncing your library

We strongly recommend that you synchronize your EndNote Desktop Library with EndNote Online. This allows you to synchronize your references between multiple devices  and share an EndNote library with others you are collaborating with. Most importantly it ensures that you have an EndNote Library saved somewhere other than your device and therefore have a backup copy.

• In EndNote X20 click the Sync Configuration button in the menu on the left-hand side of your EndNote Library
• The first time you use Sync you will need to register so click on the sign-up button and follow the on screen instructions
• You can set up Sync to run automatically or alternatively before you close your EndNote Library click on Sync Now to make sure any changes you have made are synchronized with your online Library

Tips for setting up Sync

• Sync will only work with one library on a computer
• Once you have synchronized EndNote library files do not move or rename the files as this will break the link
• If you wish to view your synchronized library via a web browser go to EndNote Online
