Using EndNote with Word
EndNote will automatically install an EndNote Word toolbar.
To cite a reference follow the steps below:
- If you use a footnote style where the citations are written in footnotes, select Insert Footnote first from the Reference Toolbar, otherwise start at step 2.
- Select the reference you want to insert by choosing the Insert Citation button:
It will open a dialog box letting you search through your EndNote library.
- Change the reference style to the one which you want to use. If you can't see the style you use then choose 'Select Another Style'. If you aren't sure which is the right one to use then check the Referencing Styles page
- EndNote will also start to create your bibliography.
