Creating bookmarks - overview

('Bookmark' is the term used for any resource you add to your list.)

The same basic process applies for all types of resources that you want to add to your list:

  • Go to your reading list page and log in
  • Open a separate tab or window in your browser
  • Search for the resource - e.g. a book on the Library catalogue, an article in a database, a web page
  • Click the orAdd to My Bookmarks button button in your browser's toolbar [If you don't have this see the Initial set-up page]
  • In the window that opens, check that the data captured looks o.k. - adjust if necessary and click Create
  • When you've finished creating a few bookmarks, return to the page for your reading list and use Add Resource to add the bookmarks to your list.

Detailed steps and video guides are available for books (print and e-books), individual chapters and essays, e-journal articles, DVDs and online video and web pages and online resources.
