Online Postgraduate Students: Remote library access

Log in to save time

Log in at the start of a session to streamline access to e-books, articles, or other subscribed content. Use your University username and password.

Accessing titles from your reading list, library search, or one of our subject guides is the quickest way to ensure you get the correct login to access content. You can also use Google Scholar with Library Links (see below). For more detailed information, you can look at our accessing the library remotely guide.

Google Scholar

If you use Google Scholar to search for content then you can change the settings so that on the right hand side of the screen a link will appear if the library has access to the journal. Clicking on this will take you straight through to the article:

  • To view links to library content in Google Scholar, click on the horizontal lines at the top left of the Google Scholar page to open up the left-hand menu:

  • In the settings menu choose Library links
  • Search for University of St Andrews
  • Tick the top and bottom box from the options which appear on screen

Eduroam wifi

Eduroam wifi is available at educational institutions around the world. As a member of the community at St Andrews, you have access too. Getting set up with eduroam can make life a little easier as a remote student. If you need help with eduroam, get in touch with the IT service desk.

You can check eduroam locations here.
