Photographic collections: George A. Little Collection of Scottish Coastal Photography
George A. Little Collection of Scottish Coastal Photography
After 30 years in banking, George Allan Little (1919-1998) resigned from his post to concentrate on his special interests, photography and writing, becoming a successful freelance photographer and photo-journalist.
His work appeared in the 'Fife Herald', 'Scottish Field' and 'Scotland's Magazine'. A selection of his monochrome prints, taken from the 1960's to the 1980's, gifted to the University by his widow, includes images of East and North East Scotland: Fife, Tayside, Aberdeenshire and Moray. It demonstrates Little's special interest in historic architecture, highlighting castles, cottages, churches and chapels, St Andrews and the fishermen and harbours of Fife's East Neuk including Crail, Anstruther, Elie and Earlsferry.
