Manuscript collections: Dunn, Douglas (1942-)

Dunn, Douglas (1942-)

Douglas Dunn was Professor of English at St Andrews University from 1991-2007, now Honorary Professor, and one of Scotland's foremost poets. He studied as a librarian initially but after a year in America enrolled for an undergraduate degree at Hull University in 1966. After graduating with a first class degree he took up freelance writing, winning numerous prizes for his collections of poems. He also contributed scripts for radio and TV, held several writer in residence posts, and latterly turned to teaching creative writing courses.

This extensive collection consists of draft manuscripts of stories, plays, poems and other works, notebooks, correspondence, photographs, journals, scrapbooks and personal papers.
