Callan, Harold Garnett (1917-1993)

Professor of Natural History at St Andrews University from 1950-1982. Specialising in cell physiology, Callan undertook ground-breaking and acclaimed research into genetics, and in particular the DNA contained in lampbrush chromosomes. This large collection primarily consists of his research notes, teaching notes, publications, letters, lectures, and exchange trips to China and Russia.
