Hay of Leyes

This collection relates primarily to the family Hay of Leyes (near Errol, in Perthshire), and consists of almost 2,000 documents, mainly dating between 1650 and 1750. Smaller groups of documents within the collection also refer to the Hay estate of Mugdrum in north Fife, and to the families of Paterson of Carpow (also containing documents, 16th-18th centuries, relating to properties in Perthshire and Jamaica), Ogilvie of Carsegrange, Lindsay of Kilspindie, Broun of Fordell, and John Lepar, provost of St Andrews.
