Inter-Library Loans: for a Book

Make a request

Make a request: Inter-Library Loan

Requesting Books

Please search for the book in our collections before you request an Inter-Library Loan.  We will not request material already held by the Library unless it is damaged or it is marked as missing. In these instances, you should first report it to the Library Help Desk before an Inter-Library Loan is requested.

You don't need to know where the item is held, we will find out if it is available.

If you are requiring access to a multi-volume work, please complete a separate Inter-Library Loan request for each individual volume. If you don't, it will delay your request.

To input your book request:

1. Click on 'Make a request: Inter-Library Loan' (above)

2. Select 'Book'

3. Login in (if you aren't already)

4. Complete as much of the form as you can. Providing detailed information, in particular the ISBN, will help us to source and supply your request more quickly

5. Read the Declaration

6. Click the 'submit' button at the bottom of the screen.

How long does it take?

Books and articles will usually arrive between 7 and 10 days, so please keep this in mind if you are requesting a specific title ahead of a deadline. Some items may take longer to arrive, for instance, if they are harder to source, so we can't guarantee delivery within a specific timeframe. You will receive updates on your request through your university email account.

Please allow 24 hours for us to process your request, excluding weekends and holidays.
