Before making request
Please check the Library Collections before requesting an Inter-Library Loan. We will not request material already held by the Library unless it is damaged or its status is marked as Missing. In these instances this should first be reported to the Library Service Desk before an Inter Library Loan is requested.
Where to search first before placing an Inter-Library Loan request:
Books: search the Library using a keyword search or author/title search
Journal articles: search the Library search screen enter the journal title
Theses: Search EThOs, the British Library's catalogue of UK theses. Many theses are available for immediate download free of charge. If you are asked to pay for a thesis when using this service please place a request through Inter-Library Loans and we will cover any costs for you.
OR search Proquest Dissertations & Theses
Please allow 24 hours for us to process your request, excluding weekends and Library holidays. Times vary for the delivery of articles and books depending on the institution which supplies the material. If the British Library holds a lending copy of the requested item, you may receive it within 48 hours.
