Can I read all the Ebooks on Springer Link?
The University subscribes to selected titles on Springerlink. To see what Ebook content you can access, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Books, and untick the box "Include preview only content". There are over 123,000 full-text titles available. When you see the icon, this denotes a title where the content is not available through the University of St Andrews subscription; you will be able to preview unowned content. If you want to access unowned content, search the Library to see if it's available in print in the Library, or through another ebook package, if not you can make an Inter-Library loan request. If the book is not owned and you think it would make a useful addition to the Library you can suggest it for purchase. Students should email details to the More Books service, including details of the title, and what course it might be useful for. Staff should contact their Academic Liaison Librarian to suggest a new purchase.
Searching and Browsing
To search the content, enter your search term into the search box, or you can choose to Browse, using the Discipline and Sub-discipline options. NB: ensure that you have limited the content to Books, as Springer Link includes journal articles.
Reading online, Printing and Downloading
All Springer Link ebooks are supplied on a Digital Rights Management (DRM) Free basis, which allows you to download the whole of the book. You can either choose to Download the whole book, or Download individual chapters. All downloads are supplied as PDFs. Download options appear when you click on a title.
Using Mobile Devices
Springer Link Books are downloaded as PDFs, so as long as you have a PDF reader installed on your device, you will be able to download to mobile devices using a number of PDF download tools.
